My Octopus Teacher is about a strange bond between a filmmaker Craig Foster and an octopus. To heal from burnout and depression, Craig took a career break and came back to his hometown, Cape Town. One day, while swimming in a kelp forest, he stumbled across a 'ball' that was covered with shells. It was an octopus. Enchanted, he decided to come visit her every day for a year.
While watching it, various emotions were triggered. I felt curious, intrigued, happy, nervous, sad and empowered. As they gradually built trust in each other, the octopus stared letting Craig witness her ordinal behaviours like hunting, resting and what it seems like playing. The sequence of her being attached by a shark and surviving it was particularly nerve-wrecking and it really hurt me to see the magnificent creature being so weak.

While reading アフリカの奇跡 by Yoshiyuki Sato, I came across with the term Triple Bottom Line (TBL). It was briefly explained in the book and I found it interesting, so I decided to do a little research on it.
The term was coined by John Elkington, who is often describes as "Godfather of Sustainability," in 1994. The TBL is an accounting framework that measures performance in business in three dimensions: finance (profits), social (people) and environmental (planet). The TBL dimensions are often called the three Ps.

There is no universally accepted method for calculating the three dimensions of the TBL (some advocate a monetary unit, other suggest an index). Collecting applicable data for calculation is also challenging.

# Picnic and sowing vegetable seeds
We had a really lovely weekend involving playing in the park, walking, shopping, a picnic and starting our first vegetable greenhouse!
On Saturday, we went to Lidl again to get some seeds to sow at home. Like the previous weekend, we bought some pretzels for Islay and Papa, a butter croissant for me, baby cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and some snacks. It was a little cold for a picnic but we did it anyway on the way home. I still enjoyed it very much, both me and Papa snuggling against Islay's sides to make sure she was warm. Islay ate a whole pretzel this time! Here is note to myself -always pack snacks, a towel, drinks for Islay and hot drink for me whenever we go even for a short walk. It would often end up being a long walk nowadays and it is actually nice to spend time together outside!
On Sunday, we sowed seeds of garden cress, cherry tomatoes and courgettes. Islay was not keen on touching soils but loved watering the soils in tray. After sowing she asked 'is the vegetable ready yet?' which was cute. I hope she will learn about how plants grow and have more interests in veggies. Now they are sitting in the living room, filling the room with this particular smell! I really look forward to see them sprouting with Islay and Papa.
